this blog, the debate and my baby’s whompyjawed head

26 Sep

Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here for whatever reason.  I am trying to decide what to do with this blog.  Honestly, like a lot of things, I’m getting kind of bored with it or something.  I’m not sure what to do with it or what it is.  Am I now a mommy blogger?  Seems like that’s all I have to talk about lately.  Not that thats a bad thing by any means but I never intended for it to turn into a mommy blog.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that of course.  I guess I’ll just go with it.

I really am trying to be a responsible American and watch the debate right now but wow, it makes me all distracted and drowsy.  I need someone to just give me the important highlights after its over.  It’s like when you read a sentence over and over again but it doesn’t sink in and you have to keep reading it twenty times before you comprehend.  I’m politically ignorant because I get bogged down in the question dodging, rhetoric and babble.  And I’m not patient enough to wade through it all I guess.

I think our household is about over our colds.  Sami never got really sick, nothing more than a little coughing and sneezing.  Oh, and some majorly huge boogers that I’m amazed could come out of her cute button nose.  Ew.  She went to the pediatrician yesterday for her 2 month checkup and first round of shots.  She now weighs 11 lbs and 11 oz and is 24 inches long.  She’s in the 95th percentile for her length!  Long Tall Sami!  She did ok with the shots although I wussed out and made The Accountant hold her while the nurse did her thing to my poor baby’s legs.  She made the most horrible sounding cry, like we’ve never heard before and come away with three cute Crayola bandages.  (Sami, not the nurse).

She had a huge fit last night so we sat with cool washclothes on her legs and gave her some infant Tylenol.   She seemed fine today and she is healthy and happy (most of the time).  Oh I almost forgot, her head is whompyjawed.  She favors her right side and now her head is flatter on that side.  The pediatrician told us to increase tummy time (which she HATES) and lay her on her left side as much as possible.  Poor whompyjawed baby.  I just like saying that word “whompyjawed”…
