I’ve been thinking about Switzerland today. The Alps in particular. The perfect place to be when your head is always in the clouds anyway.
I’m not as well-traveled as the many photo albums on my coffee table would have you to believe. That European adventure across five countries was packed into 14 glorious days. The most amazing two weeks of my life. I am the queen of second guessing myself. But not then. Not during those fourteen days.
But back to the Alps. There was nothing for miles but massive snowy peaks making the brilliant green valleys spotted with lakes and charming villages below look miniscule. We hiked for half a day in utter amazement. I think about that day a lot. Heidi was one of my favorite stories as a child and for one day, I got to be her.
It’s hard to explain but there my mind was as clear as that sky. No worries, no stresses, just me, the mountains and the crisp cool air. Someday I’ll go back. Just because I think it’d be amazing to be able to have my head in those clouds permanently.
