1:21 am heartburn

I have a kickin' case of heartburn and can't sleep. I woke up feeling like my tongue and throat were swelling up. Weird right? So I googled side effects of my new meds and fought back the urge to call 911. Seriously people, don't try to self diagnose via the internet because it will scare... Continue Reading →

Dear Runkeeper,

Thank you for sending me this. However, I am in fact, NOT "bored with my routine", as you so helpfully suggested. You see, I no longer have a routine, unless you count lots of sleeping, cupcakes, and mentally tripping the senders of these relentless running emails as they walk down stairs. So by all means,... Last night

Tomorrow is my last day in Boston. I really like this town but I'm ready to see my family. The time away has been good for me though, on both a personal level and career wise. I'm not quite as buried in mental mire as before. I guess a good description for how I'm feeling... Continue Reading →

saturday, 3/24/12

You know you are fresh out of clever titles for posts when you resort to using the day of the week. Oh well. If yesterday was all mine, today was definitely all kiddo's. Morning bubble bath followed by dance class #3. Fabulous time, the kid is really into it. Then to the park across the... Continue Reading →

I've written about five posts here and deleted them all. I have lost my blogging love I think.

I didn’t want my picture…

I didn't want my picture taken because I was going to cry. I didn't know why I was going to cry, but I knew that if anybody spoke to me or looked at me too closely the tears would fly out of my eyes and the sobs would fly out of my throat and I'd cry for a week. I could feel the tears brimming and sloshing in me like water in a glass that is unsteady and too full. ~Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Out of boot unless in pain. Getting temp carbon fiber shank plate and permanent orthotics (inserts). Get plate on Thursday. No running for at least a month. Back to doc in month. The end.

weather madness

Today has been interesting and its supposed to get more so later this afternoon and tonight.  Impending storms, tornadoes, crazy winds, flooding...Armageddon basically, if you listen to the Weather Channel. Not that I'm not taking it very seriously. We don't play when it comes to tornadoes down here. I have our "safe room" ready (although... Continue Reading →
